So I've now got my green card (or white card, or as one guy said, soon to be called purple card. He was joking). The lecture was one of the most excruciatingly boring things I've ever had to sit through. It's bad enough that it costs every attendee $100 for the 6 hours. Even though there's a test (13 questions, multiple choice) there's really no way you can fail. When you take into account some of the people working in construction there would be a lot of people failing. Not that I'm calling anyone dumb heh.
One guy actually fell asleep (for real) during the one of the short videos they showed. I think i almost fell into a coma.
I'm about 1/3 of the way through the Junky (as read by Bill Burroughs. That's right ... I can call him Bill now). I swear you could subsititute his reading with that of Grandpa Simpson and no one would notice the difference. Still, I'd rather have Bill read it ... it's more authentic or something.
Example ..
A friend of mine has a reading of the Chuck Palahniuk story Exodus (from the book Haunted). It's read by some lady who sounds like she'd be more suited to reading Harry Potter or something. It just doesn't fit.
Tomorrow's back to work again (Yay!
) My back is feeling less than great so I hope it holds out. BTW ... I get up at 5am in order to get there on time. What time do you have to get up in the morning?
