Yesterday I finally was able to get through to the property manager for Midtown Crossing, and turned in my application and paid my deposit. So, barring any unforeseen problems, I should be set for a new apartment in December! They might not have it ready until the second, rather than the first, of the month, but that shouldn't create any problems. I'm fucking stoked.
I got super bored at work today so I left a little bit early and went to NFM to look at beds again. I'm fairly sure that I've got a bed frame and mattress picked out that I like. At first I was leaning towards a king size bed, but after further research it seems a lot more prudent to go for a queen size bed. Queen size beds are 60" in width, and king size beds are 76" in width. Since I'm not planning on having orgies on a regular basis, I think 5' is more than enough space. The cost difference would be over $400 for the frame and mattress, and then additionally whatever cost difference there would be for bedding. Not worth it.
Sometimes I wish I didn't read about current events, because 95% of it infuriates me. Especially this story. I won't bother trying to offer an analysis on it, because it pretty much speaks for itself. "no freestanding constitutional right not to be framed" might be the most despicable utterance I've seen all year.
