Happy Valentine's Day from ME!
Hey SG friends..I heart you!
So yeah. This past week has been insane, awesome, and fabulous. I suppose I should start the recap with my birthday...
My parents sent me flowers and a birthday cake in the mail, which was just fucking rad. I didn't know you could send cakes in the mail, but as you can see, I proceeded to bite the crap out of it anyway.
My roomies/bestest friends ever decorated my room for me while I was at the boy's house the evening before my birthday. When I walked inside, they jumped out of my bathroom and attacked me, which was pretty fucking scary. Balloons littered the floor, red, white, and green streamers hung from the cieling (I guess Christmas/Mexican colors were on sale?), and they lugged the christmas tree we still have up into my room to decorate. It looked like Latin America exploded in my room, but it was the most awesome thing ever. They're just...fucking rad.
I had class the day of my birthday...but I didn't go! Whoops, I'm a bad student. So sue me! Instead, I cuddled in bed much of the afternoon with my boy, and it was awesome. He is the best boyfriend in the world, and I'm glad he thinks I'm rad. We went to Sonny's for lunch (MMMM smoked turkey sandwich!), and then he scooted to class. My friends and I decided to scope out this crazy indoor flea market mall thing they just built nearby, and it was...interesting, to say the least. We were definately the only white people there, and the stores seemed to alternate between "Dollar Goods" and "Hip Hip Urban Fubu Street Club Wear". Interesting.
The boy wouldn't tell me what we were doing that evening, but of course all my friends knew so we ran back to the apartment where they proceeded to change and beautify me. They curled my hair and told me to slip into my best frock, and then I was whisked away by le boy to a fabulous dinner at Hops. Oh Hops, I love you and your sweet and delicious croissant rolls. Our waitress was AMAZING and brought us an entire TRAY of them to take home after dinner. I wanted to kiss her. Joe and I had ahi tuna, which was just yumtastic...good times definately prevailed.
We got back to the apartment and I was instructed that it was time to open presents. I got...
1. Amelie on DVD...YES! I've wanted this forever!
2. Napoleon Dynamite on DVD...sweet! Your mom goes to college!
3. Love, Actually on DVD...which I already own
4. A big big pack of blank CDs so I can continue to illegally download music
5. An awesome martini plaque to hang on my wall
6. The sweetest card ever
It was a great birthday. I don't feel so bad about turning 20 anymore!
Thursday was Joe and I's 2 year anniversary...it's amazing that we've been together so long, and that we're both still so goddamn happy together--I love this kid so much
We hung out a bit that day, and then I was instructed to go back to my apartment and stay in my room with the door closed--I didn't! I ran to Publix and found a lovely little cake that I had the baker write "2 years" on, and I picked up some strawberries and whipping cream to make homemade whipped cream
Looks delicious, huh? Yeah, it was!
After I was locked in my room for about an hour, Joe came and got me and presented me with the most scrumptious and beautiful looking meal I had ever seen:
Oh my fucking god. My mouth was just watering. We toasted with PINK CHAMPAGNE (yum yum yum), and then proceeded to eat the yummiest steak I've ever had in my entire existence. No joke. That boy is skilled with a grill, and they came out PERFECT. We had a fun, humorous, and sappy dinner, and then we exchanged anniversary presents.
Little did we know that we had the same idea for presents...
We got each other promise rings. The one I got him is titanium, and I got it engraved with the words "J Squared" inside. He loved it.
And mine? Holy fucking shit. Platinum band, pink heart-shaped diamond, with two small diamonds on either side of the pink one. Oh my god. It's absolutley gorgeous, and I never expected anything that beautiful to ever be in my posession. Best. Boyfriend. Ever.
We are so totally and completley in love, it's not even funny.
On Friday, my roomies and I baked delicious heart-shaped sugar cookies for our boyfriends, and then that evening all of us went out to dinner for a belated group birthday celebration. Chili's is delicious, and I certainly think I could sustain myself on their chili-cheese dip alone. Sooooo good! My friends collectively gave me $60 to put towards getting tattooed, which was the sweetest thing in the entire world. My friends are so very nice to me.
Did I get tattooed that evening? Why yes, yes I did! Do I have pictures? Why yes, yes I do! Am I posting them in this journal? Why no, no I'm not!
Sorry, the boy has them and I have to get the pics from him--but I'll post them as soon as I get 'em!
I got my wrists and behind my ears tattooed on Friday, and it was AWESOME. I got "Create" in an awesome cursive script on my left wrist, and "Revise" in a badass typewriter font on my right wrist. They look SUBERB. I also got little martini glasses behind each ear that look so boss it's not even funny. I'm officially re-addicted to getting tattooed, and I think when I go home this weekend I'm going to get tattooed again
Saturday, the crew and I ventured out to many different places to have good times. I impulsively bought a gorgeous dress I will never wear anywhere, and am returning it today haha. I bought new sandals which I desperately needed, as well as did a few other exciting things, like...
made out with a deer....
did a little faux bass fishing...
got "all up on" a mannequin...
kissed a scene kid...er, my boyfriend...
and got a new set of sheets to look emo on
That's it for this sassy-pants update, my lovlies! Stay tuned for the tattoo pictures, because they're kind of the raddest things you'll ever see in your young lives.
Happy Valentine's Day, SG-land! Go make sweet sweet love with someone
