Honestly, I deal with a LOT of stress lol. My anxiety disorder makes sure of that.
My day-to-day routine is mainly comprised of stress reduction rituals that prevent me from spiraling into a pit of panic attacks, self-doubt and worry.
So here's a peek into my relaxing but not relaxed life:
I start my day by making my bed to make sure that my environment is free of clutter - which honestly helps so much. When my house is cluttered, my mind feels cluttered.
After I've done that I go downstairs to make my morning coffee, and I like to throw on a vinyl record while I do it. I like to make my coffee in a French press, because the long and slow process of it is very relaxing to me. Hearing the crackling vinyl in the next room just makes the whole process an experience in and of itself.
I like to try and write in my journal every day (sometimes I forget of course) - I think it's relaxing and cathartic to write down my thoughts and get them onto paper.
Depending on the weather, I like to go on nature walks. I'm fortunate enough that I live in an area with lots of nice walking trails, so I like to take full advantage of that. Being outdoors is so good for stress reduction. I really want to take it up a notch by learning how to fish so I can start fishing in the river.
In the evenings I like to go to hot yoga classes - which honestly isn't something I started doing until this year, but I find it to actually be very relaxing and helpful!
At the end of the day I like to unwind by reading a good book in the bubble bath. Sometimes with a charcuterie board to snack on. Who doesn't love a good shark coochie? 🦈😝
Oh and lastly, I like to smoke weed to reduce stress too. It is a very fine line to walk though, between being pleasantly stoned and being panic attack inducingly high. So I try not to go too ham most of the time. 😅
Look at these knock off Baby Jeeters that I found here in Canada:
I hope that maybe some of these tricks can help somebody else relieve some stress! What do you do to stay stress-free?
