So here's a great story for everybody....
(I'm starting to think I could have a reality show here at work)
I have a resident that we chose to inform that we were not renewing their lease once it expired. So we issued them a 30 day notice informing them that upon expiration of their lease they must move out and turn in keys or be evicted....(there are a lot of underlying reasons why, this story should give you a little insight as to why).
Well...their 30 day notice expired November 30th and sure as shit they're still here. So we're having to follow through with an eviction instead of just a move out.
Mean while, they're getting ready for Christmas and just happy as be.
Long story short, we have small storage units in our basements that the residents are no longer allowed to use. The only people that use them are staff members, be it for our supplies, tools, personal items (for staff that lives on site). Well, today one of my staff members came to me and said they had a small issue that they didn't know how to address.
He told me that these residents that we're evicting (who live directly above him) had broken into our storage unit and stolen all his Christmas decorations. From the tree all the way down to family ornaments that have been passed on year to year.
When he told me this, I asked him if he was absolutely positive and his response was absolutely! He says he can see the tree in their front window and can see the very distinctive ornaments his children have made.
OMG!!!!
So I of course informed him that he needed to contact the police. He, however, felt differently...he thought that he should go ask for his things back. I again told him that I suggested making a police report and yet again...sure as shit he knocked on their door and as soon as they opened the door and saw who it was at their door...they started taking the tree and ornaments down, they knew EXACTLY what he was there for. Handed back all of his stuff!!!!
WOW...I just have no words for that
Now onto the funnest part of my day....
