my fridge is almost completely bare except for some assorted condiments, spicy black bean burgers, and organic peanut butter.
test #1 today went well. he asked some number questions i know i got wrong though.
-lacandon milpas produce 6.5 tons of food (not 11)
-intensive ag & domestication of plants 1st appeared in asia 10,000 yrs ago (not 15,000)
-lacandon maya grow more than 70 crops (not 30-40)
tests don't measure how smart you are or how well you grasp the material, but how much you are able to memorize.
normally, i wouldn't really care about my grades. i have a nice "c" average to prove it. i'm just trying to pull my gpa up to a "b" so i can go to grad school... because i'm crazy. it's not too hard though. just actually attending class and reading assigned materials is an easy "b". i was dumb my 1st two years of college for skipping out and getting crunk all the time.
tonight there's a speaker on campus who lived in a refugee camp in darfur. it should be really interesting. i'm sort of president-elect for this organization called beyond borders, and we're helping sponsor some events like this that are going on right now. i wish i could fly up to campus on a magical cloud loaded with delicious fruit instead of taking the bus.
