Growing up in Michigan, (minutes away from Saginaw) I never really spent a lot of time out of the state. The occassional trip, of course. But I hit a point in my life where things no longer held me back - relationships, jobs, family - and I went for it.

I fell in love with Austin, TX. I got lost in Newark, NJ. I came out of my shell in NYC. I met some of the most amazing and fun women I'll ever meet on another trip to Columbus, OH.

I went to look for America, and I loved what I found.

"America" by Simon and Garfunkel has never held more meaning, or made more sense to me.

It was to the point that Michigan did seem like a dream to me. It still does. I'm ready to move on.

And I can't count how many times I've said to my mother Kathy, I'm lost.

I doubt I'll ever stop saying it.
