I had a very male specific experience today at the gym. There was this guy, who seemed to be following me from exercise to exercise, like next to me every step of the way. Now, normally this wouldn't bother me. Sometimes "smaller" guys like to see what "bigger" guys are doing, how many sets, how much weight. I know when I see a guy in amazing shape, I'm curious what he's lifting and what exercises he chooses. So, the guy who's following me around is in pretty bad shape (stomach past his pecs), I figure he's just checkin' my sets. Nope, he feels like he has to put up more weight than me on every machine. His form was terrible, he looked like he was going to hurt himself, and he would only do one set per my four or five sets. It made me sad at first, then just got annoying. Finally, I said "Do you need some help with that?". He seemed thrown, "Uh, no. No, thanks." And left me alone the rest of my session. There are a lot of people that go to the gym and are so clueless about the mechanics of building muscle, chances are they're doing more damage than good. If I was a personal trainer, I would have been in pain watching this guy lift.
Sorry about that whole rant. I hope you made it through unscathed.
In other news, M_A_Y posted some pictures to her journal page that made me happy. I love the profile picture, it makes me giggle everytime I see it. I don't know how long I'm going to be able to function so far away from her.
Pirates are the coolest.

HA! Those jerks at the gym crack me up. They try to lift way more than they should, then wonder why they look like shit and get hurt. Then they want me to spot them. Ha! Fuck you! I aint going to be responsible.
