Yesterday was the first day of school.
I had though school started on Wednesday, (it always starts on Wednesday!), so I booked my flight for Tuesday night. Well, wouldn't you know, school in fact started on Monday. I found this out Saturday night, and had to frantically find a sooner plane ticket. For $350, I was able to take a terribly stressful 4 am flight to DC, and then another to NY. I had a panic attack on the first plane, which was a truly horrific experience. $350 + $200 from the Monday shoot I had to cancel = the exact amount I'd borrowed to pay rent this month. And just like that, the debt doubles. I've been jerked around so hard by this financial aid office, and the only person helping or giving a flying fuck about me is on her death bed. The school can't find a copy of my third-party letter requesting financial independence- no one seems to be able to find it. They're acting like I'm trying to thieve money from them. I have been thrown to the wolves. Here's praying all that gets sorted out, and I don't have to sink lower than I already have just to get by.
Ohhhh hohoho! Thank the lord it's only money, and not something real.
In happier news, I'm feeling optimistic about the school year. I met a wonderful new Dutch friend named Merln. Though my Monday classes run straight from 12:00-10:00, (with a holy ten minute break in between), I think I'm going to do well. The ceramics professor seems really experimental, which is awesome. I have already established myself as a good student in Anatomy and Physiology, which is sometimes hard to do in a lecture of 130+ students. Today, I have Early Childhood Development, (another lecture), and figure drawing and figure sculpture on Fridays, with two professors that I have a lot of respect for.
Also, my darling band is all back in the same place! That, I really am happy about.
My band Olken is playing a live acoustic show at The Delancey on September 17th. If you're in NY, please come see me We can get drunk and sing, it will be fun!
Hey now, won't you all have a beautiful day?

Why do schools happen to always lose everything! That's why you should make copies. I have too many copies of everything, I think. Anyways, have fun at your band thing wish I could go.
