I woke up, and Ted Kennedy was dead.
In other news, I feel like someone is playing a mean trick on me. My cell phone isn't turning on. The screen is broken, or something. The numbers light up, but that's it. So I tried the house phone, here where I'm staying. I turn it on, I hear the dial tone, and then it shuts off entirely. I thought maybe it was low on batteries, so I charged it for a bit. Nothing. I touch it, and it stops working. I have no way of contacting anyone. I'd try a pay phone, but I looked all up and down the way, and it seems they don't exist in Florida.
This is a problem, for a number of reasons. I urgently need to contact my university about my financial aid, and enrollment, and bill. I need to know why nothing has come back yet, and why I received an email stating that they don't expect me to return. I'm afraid the whole fucking world is going to fall apart- I won't get the loans, I won't pay the bill, I can't finish this degree which I've invested so much in, I'll lose my insurance and have to sell an organ to pay back the loans...holy shit, when the fuck did this happen?
Even if I could call, the school has been ignoring my calls and emails for days. If I were there, I'd march right in and demand some answers. But I'm here in Florida.
Also, I'm meant to work today, at a nursing home, here in Florida. I know, I am on vacation. This is something a family member put me up to. I don't mind, but now I have no way of contacting anyone.
Does anyone know anything about paying taxes as an independent contractor? I foolishly haven't been taking money out of the money I've made this year for taxes, which puts me in a tight fix. How do other people do this? How does anyone manage to live in this system? I webcam. I know that most people who do this just manage not to pay taxes on the money, but this is my primary source of income, and if I don't file taxes I can't take out loans for school. I feel like the sky is falling. If anyone has any insight about how I should approach fixing this problem, it would be awesome. I'd love to just, get a proper job, where the taxes are taken out already, but for fucks sake, I'm on my senior year of university and I'm teaching, and taking 22 credits, in a band, and trying desperately to get the music outreach program off the ground.

I am guessing that you need to report income and taxes to qualify for your student aid. Getting this resolved is obviously a priority although I'm not sure why you are unable to report "no income" when applying for student aid.
As a private contractor (webcam business), you may benefit from itemizing your deductions since you use your home as your office, etc. There are a number of sites you can visit where this process is described and guidelines provided.
