well, from the chaotic scenes of Monday to the green hills and valleys of south west Wales on Tuesday.....after what always seems like too long i was able to get some time off and visit my sister, her hubby and my niece. The 600 mile round trip makes it hard to just pop round on a whim so i stayed for afew days.......at the vicarage, yes you read correctlymy brother in law is a vicar so gets to stay here
The trip is cool after youve run out of M4 and hit the country roads with there bends and curves and glimpses of rocky coastline being bashed by very dramatic looking waves AND!!! for a change it didnt rain.Once i'd arrived and stretched my body so it moved in a more humanlike way i was attacked by this little monster and for the first time ever i got to be greeted face to face as uncle ian in the very cute Welsh accent that no matter how much i try to block it reminds me of Gavin and Stacy. After a very quick learning curve i'd become fluent in "toddler" and spent the rest of the day being ordered about by a two and a half year old who showed me what noise teddies make to having my arms inspected and told they look funny...pfft tattoo's do not run strong in this one i think!....yet.
The next day i was treated to a very very traditional village fete which even had the tea and coffee sold in china cups and saucers,i took the bike with me as the car was full and if im honest its always funny to see the stares when the bald tattooed biker shows up and is the vicars wife's brother.
The next day was just hanging out but they had a church thing to go to which being an atheist i ducked out of and decided to try and clear the walled garden of the 3 foot high weeds and brambles.I found a very rusty old petrol strimmer in the old stable and after some WD-40 and alot of swearing i got it working......weeds whacked piled and burnt.
My last day was a trip to Tesco where i managed to get my sis to let me pay for her food shop so they could save faster for a car....its really hard to get people who like to help others to accept some for a change. Then it was kisses good bye, being ordered to put the "bike hat" on, then back down the M4.
goodbye moos!
