To my Friend Dani Erin:
I read your words and like
Solomon's sword they cut through me
with bitter truth - that lay above
the lies i often tell.
I read your words and knew you
were like me - only more brave
you could write words that
my mind has left in some shadowy
place - i call forgotten.
i read your words and saw your face
and my heart wept for you, but could not
for me. It wept tears of love to give you -
so you could believe once more.
I read across the page and saw
your soul and it was brighter than think
it illumination burned my shadows
and filled my pen with ink
and i wrote you a love song
for us to dance too!
and in that song -
i forgave the silence
which once was so loud
i become lost in all its noise
i read your words
and knew
life would be alright
because some how
i knew you would be okay
I read your words and like
Solomon's sword they cut through me
with bitter truth - that lay above
the lies i often tell.
I read your words and knew you
were like me - only more brave
