I think Aretha's version of this song is profound, her lead vocal & the layering of her background vocals always gives me a chill, Kind of like in "Spanish Harlem" but this one is even better. Her piano playing & the rhythm section are communicating on some verydeep levels.
Sorry that your prayers were not answered, but that's no reason to stop "Wishin' & Hope'n", to make an obscure Dionne Warwick reference
