Happy Mother's day to all of the Mamma's out there.
This movie is so special to me bc it represents more of the reality of the frustrations of motherhood, even filtered as it is thru a children's song. Also, let's point out that this was 1975 and it is so much more palatable than the schlock on tv now, go Maurice Sendak (images), go carly simon (tunes, duh).
ALSO, who among us has not felt like Pierre?
EDIT: Jesus Christ.
George Will of all people just made a case on the ABC roundtable for why Barack will win [Kennedy, carter, reagan, and clinton all being very similar situations of a fresh promising outsider who will make a change]
The audacity of Hope is the best mother's day present I could have.

And, er, hello!
And, speaking as a foreigner from another land, i hope Barack gets in. He seems the sanest of the bunch!
