Hey guys, hope everyone is okay, its been a long while since i've
written one of these bad boys and i know a couple of people have
been asking me to do another one, i just couldn't really think of
anything else to write about after banging out the last massive one
i did, i think i pretty much covered everything i was thinking about!
And it made me alot happier and i could rest and thiiings, so all is
good and well.
Couple of people asked me to write about my opinions on the music
industry, and as i have an active role in such industry (well, i'd
like to think i do, and one day i hope my role will be of more
importance than it currently is, we'll see!) and basically as i see
it in the present state that it is, things are definitely straying
away from the musical aspect of the industry... i mean its hard to
even call it that anymore... it can't be defined by "music" alone...
its got to such a stage where even if you are an utterly amazing
musician, if you don't look the part you'll instantly be dismissed...
and to be fair i don't think thats what the industry is about, but
if you don't look the part then generally i guess people don't want to
like you, because people ARE shallow, they look at someone and either
think "that guy is hella cool" or "mmm rofl what a loser". Which i
guess puts me at a bit of a disadvantage because i'm hardly the most
attractive member of society, yet i like to think that i'm an "okay"
musician. (Opinions may vary.)
Which brings me onto another issue. The fact that people get into the music industry nowadays due to the fact that they're solely looking for the attention and esteem that it may reward you. I thought the industry was supposed to be about putting out music that you believe in, putting forth views in your lyrics that you feel strongly about, writing about things that you might not be able to express in any other way. Its deep, meaningful... all the best songs have some kind of heart behind them... they're sung with passion, expression. If you're going to come along, write out some words about a potato and sing them blandly, post it around until thousands of people love it because its "ironic" and get laid twelve times a night then you may aswell leave the industry alone, you're not putting anything back into it. Being in the industry is about the music, you participate because you love the music... because you want to write it, because its enjoyable... if you're just looking for the attention it brings you go break into parliament and get your ass out or something.
Anyway, thats a bit of a sour rant over with... sorry about that guys! And if i sound like a bit of a pretentious idiot then i do apologise, but i just hate people that take what they have for granted... i, myself, am no angel... i probably do it all the time, every day... but i'm thankful that my life is the way it is... and thats all that matters.

Needless to say, I was, and am not, impressed.
Random point, off topic-Ive been to your city, and everyone there looked at me like I had purple polka dots on my face because I dont eat meat. Funny, isnt it?
