Ok, brunch was a false alarm.
Living on the Eastside is *fucking* killing me with boredom.
I spent Sunday afternoon sitting in Cyclops shooting the shit with sinatras_doll and her work cohorts. I could get used to that - I must move to the city. Although I was warned not to, I read some online apartment reviews. Obviously only people who've had problems actually bother posting, but it's still put me off most of the places in Belltown - for now at least.
So, my latest idea for entertainment - both mine and more importantly dear reader, yours - is internet dating. So I put up a profile. It's completely honest and simple: My friends are important to me, I love live music, I just got into snowboarding, I work a lot, I like good food, I get drunk. Simple stuff. I put up a lot of photos. Candid stuff of me out with friends. And my plan is simple: I don't initiate contact with people, I just decide who to reply to if they contact me. I don't reply to people who have no photo, because I assume they have some reason for not wanting me to see them - or they have a mac they don't know how to use
The profile went up last night, and already we're in business! I have 7 (count 'em) contacts. Some shy types have resorted to just the electronic 'wink'. A few plucky girls have jumped right in there and emailed me - hat's off to 'em. One girl wrote me a lovely message. She's a devout Christian, and whilst I have nothing against that, I'm planning to replay with something along the lines of "It's just not going to work love." Reading the mails, a few other things become apparent:
- Regardless of how hot someone is, if they can't string together a coherent, short, mostly-correctly-spelled email, then I'm really not interested.
- OMG LOL! WRITING IN ALL CAPS IS ALSO NOT ATTRACTIVE ROFL!!!!! THIS IS NOT THE ONLY PUNCTUATION MARK!!!111
- Straight up, unabashed flattery is always a good way to go.
In other news my room is a right f-ing mess, and I still need to wash the car.
*EDIT*
hmm, it's getting pretty busy. And I haven't even replied to anyone yet. I got a wink from Singapore too, which is optimistic to say the least...
