I have returned from GDC older and wiser. Well wiser in the ways of using Irradiance Volumes for realtime lighting effects anyway.
Microsoft gave away 1000 (count 'em) High-Def TVs. So That's a retail value of about (Dr Evil accent) 1 meeeellion Dollars. I didn't get one. But that didn't suck, this is what sucked:
Yesterday, my birthday, during his keynote speech, the president of Nintendo said they wanted to demonstrate the as-yet-unreleased 8-player Mario Kart on the DS. So he asked if it was anyone's birthday...
By the time I got anywhere near the stage, pretty much everyone in the front 10 rows had decided it was their birthday. So I nearly, but didn't, get to play Mario Kart against the president of Nintendo. Bastards.
Ha! It's sunny as hell and I'm going to get drunk all weekend.
