Damn, I've been ignoring you all. Sorry.
Work looks like it's levelled out to a busy-but-not-totally-insane-so-I-can-live-with-it plateau (TM). Plus I'm doing gameplay stuff instead of graphics, which put me in a bad mood for a couple of days, but now I'm enjoying it. I'm going to GDC up in SF next month too.
And now, some ranting. You should probably skip this paragraph. The first time you can afford a new car, right off the lot, should be a great experience. Unfortunately, it's completely ruined by having to deal with financing and salespeople, both of whom are desperate to finacially sodomise me. I *really* wish they'd just listen, understand that I know the tricks, I did my research (and when I was a kid, my dad was a manager at a dealer) so I know what the invoice price is, I know that their actual cost is even lower still, and they should just accept fair the 4-5% profit I offer them without dragging the process out for days and trying every bullshit line in the book. And no, I don't want to pay $450 for 'extra rust proofing'. Its a Japanese car, it rains like fuck in Japan, if the car really needed your mythical rust proofing I wouldn't want the fucker in the first place. There are plenty of super rich people in San Luis who have more money than sense. They can make their 25% profit from them, not me. Don't even get me started on the financing.
Ah, that's better.
Other than than , shit is good. My folks are coming over in a month or so, then a week or 2 later M, my favouritest*, is here on the home stretch of her whirlwind round the world tour.
*if this isn't really a word, it is now.
And I got a payrise - come visit, I can afford to buy you all a beer now
Woo, everyone wants to be my friend!
So what's up with you? I just messaged all of y'all
*EDIT*
Last night's quantity of drinking can be safely filed under "Far too much".

So buying a car sucks?
It really is irritating, all of the lame games that dealerships play.
I don't drink beer.... can it be a mixed drink?
(I'll be your friend without the liquor)
*favouritest.... is a word in my dictionary. I also love the way you Brits spell.
