There were bad parts to yesterday, but overall it wasn't so awful. Though I do think I need to compile a short list...
PEOPLE THAT NEED A SWIFT KICK IN THE NUTS:
- The dude who runs the comic shop near my house and decided that even though Cerebus never really sold for them, they weren't gonna carry any issues of it including the last fucking one. Yeah, a brilliant brainstorm not to carry the last issue of the longest running indie comic of EVAR.
- Anyone remotely associated with Calgary Transit, because, you know, it shouldn't take me two hours to go to the other comic shop that DID carry Cerebus and back when I could literally walk it faster.
- Whoever told me that Calgary Transit was in any way comparable to Vancouver. *SACK*
Aside from that, I got my article done (on "blue movie beauties" for the International Month of Ladies... er, hold on... no, that's the celebration this month at the local stripclub... right, I was writing on "women in film" for International Women's Month) and got some props on it from my beloved friend/copy editor, Heather; I got comics (good comics! I got five and four of them were good--an acceptable ratio!--most notably the new issue of 100 Bullets, and the first issue of Street Angel); and I talked to a friend of mine in Vancouver for awhile. Overall, the day was a little higher stress at points than I generally like on my days off, but at least the stress alleviated itself and I enjoyed my evening.
All right, off to work! Maybe I won't be so surly today! Wait--I'll be at work! I'll pretty much have to be! Goooooooo SURLY! .D
