I know I've been on about politics a bit lately, for anyone who actually reads this, but pay attention to what's happening in Ohio and Wisconsin. Wisconsin is definitely the national stage, and you would be a fool to not have a vested opinion. Regardless of what your political identity is, this is the sort of stuff you should care about. The future of unions, collective bargaining, how the states manage protests, the wages teachers and state-employees are paid, and where your favorite political pundits REALLY fall on the issue.
Even if you don't care about the issue directly, again, care about where your political heroes side. This issue will expose some sentiments from pundits and citizens on both sides. It's kind of cool.
It's my opinion that Americans are naturally good and we want to protect our teachers and firefighters and police officers. It requires people to stand up to those in power attempting to make the cuts though. That's really the problem, in my opinion, the lack of accountability. No one stands up to the government because they (a) assume the government is right by nature of being elected and thus is the "popular" choice of actions, or (b) assume the government is an unstoppable force and take the path of least resistance and sit it out.
Politics fucking matters. Care. If you're a republican or a democrat, your voice and your political identity and the future of our country still matter.
