Yesterday was an odd day. I heard the storm when I went to bed Monday night, but when I woke up on Tuesday, our power was on (it never went off), and I had internet access, so I didn't think it had been too bad. While driving to class, I noticed WTUL (Tulane's radio station) wasn't transmitting, so I switched to NPR where I hard a torrent of crazy tornado-related happenings. It was such a lovely day, too.
By the time I got to campus, Tulane had canceled classes, so I had the day off. Tara and I decided to hit the mall to get her Valentine's day chocolate, but first I called around to make sure some of my friends were ok. Everyone was fine, but no one had power. John, having neither power nor anything to do, asked to tag along on our errands, so we picked him up, toured some desolation, then continued to spend the rest of the day hanging out, going to Lager's, watching Boondocks and Heroes, and eating sushi. All in all, a good day, but not exactly what I was expecting when I woke up.
These things happen, I suppose. Anyway, back to at least trying to get some school work done before Druids. Remember, if anyone is checking out the parades uptown, get in touch.
