We went to my parents' house in Laplace for xmas eve, then decided to stay there for the night since we were supposed to go on to Lafayette anyway the next day. We spent xmas at Tara's grandmother's house in Lafayette, then came home. In the last two days, I've eaten too much, driven too far, and slept all too little. By the time we got back here, I just felt tired, and I could barely drive the last leg home. Fortunately, I didn't start to flag until we got into the city. Cruise control does help on long distances, but I couldn't use it much on the way back. There was too much traffic. We didn't end up having to go too slowly, but we passed a lot of people, and ran into a few slow-downs. I am freakin' tired.
Tara and I celebrated Yule on the solstice, so we did our gift-exchanging then. She gave me an awesome necklace. For xmas, I got some computer stuff from my mother, and my grandmother gave me some wal-mart gift cards, which I used to buy some dvds from the wal-mart website. My new external hard drive works great in Ubuntu, so no issues there. I just don't have the energy to install the dvd burner, though. That will have to wait until tomorrow.
Tara is making cookies because she rocks. I tried to practice a bit, but for some reason, my bass was hot (hot as in electricity). Maybe that requires more explanation. After I plugged the amp in and turned it on, every metal surface on the bass, cable, and amp shocked me, savy? The truly savy will remember that the strings are also metal. I don't think I have the strength to figure out what-the-fuck with that, either.
I could really use some grass right now.
