But is it not written that it does rain except when it pours?
I know I don't update much, but I haven't had internet since late Thursday night. Some intermittent service on Friday, less than that on Saturday and Sunday, and absolutely nothing yesterday. A guy from Cox finally came out and fixed it today. In the interim, much has gone by, so I'll do this day by day.
Friday night: Got into a car accident uptown. Not my fault. Exchanged insurance info. My passenger side headlight is entirely busted. No one was hurt. When I say entirely busted, I mean entirely busted. I don't care to elaborate.
Saturday: Proofread the paper I finished on Thursday, rented some movies. Lord of War and Kinky Boots are both excellent. Go see them.
Sunday: Finished my Aristotle paper, and we watched Lord of War with the commentary. It was entirely worth it.
Monday: I hear from the other person's insurance. They're not giving me any shit about paying out, they just wanted to come inspect the damages. The adjustor comes, takes some pictures, tries to give me an estimate. Turns out it's enough damage to count as a total loss, so they give me the option of selling it to them for the value or taking most of the value to get it repaired. Upon finding out that Doug is still trying to get rid of the Neon, we opt for the former. Still waiting to actually resolve all of this formally. Split a six-pack of Dixie with the Elder Parker. Good times.
Tuesday: The insurance company pays for a rental car for me since you're not supposed to drive without a headlight. It takes them 1.5 hours to pick me up, but they finally do so, just in time for me to write this and make lunch before I have to run off to class.
I like my car, the Lumina. It's taken us there and back again. I don't want to say more about it at the moment. Suffice it to say that I was hoping to be able to hold onto it a while longer. The bread I get from the insurance company will probably cover repairs, but I would be repairing a car with no a/c and fewer features than the Neon. When I got rid of the truck, it was being a pain in the ass, so I was glad to see it go and get something else. I think I'm less glad this time. However, I had said before that if I had the dough, I would have bought the Neon off of Doug by now. I guess I just didn't want my time with the Lumina to end like this.
This, too, shall pass. Waiting for fullness is.
