I've just had a very busy four days. On Friday, we went with my grandparents to bring some things into the new apartment. Tara wasn't feeling well, and my grandfather can't lift anything, so it was mostly up to me to get everything from my grandfather's truck into the apartment. Tara was able to help with the bigger things at least. It took most of the afternoon to get all of that stuff together, set up one or two pieces of furniture and make sure nothing was too much in the way of other things being moved in. That evening, one of my mother's friends dropped off a laptop which had a virus on it so that i could take a look at it. He gave me permission to reformat and reinstall, so after a brief look at it, I decided I would do exactly that for five reasons 1) his anti-virus wasn't seeing the virus, possibly because it was out of date, and I wasn't about to renew his subscription for him 2) I didn't have a way of getting an antivirus on his computer without hooking him up to our network 3) I didn't feel like dealing with a virus clean, especially if it were something particularly nasty 4) I had everything i needed to put the computer back to its factory specs and 5) a reformat would leave the system entirely clean, and if I install AVG Free, he won't likely have another problem like that.
However, a reformat/reinstall is time-consuming, so i spent a good bit of Friday night watching SG chat on my computer while waiting for the software to do its thing. I wanted to get it all done that night, but I ended up putting it away after a while and figuring I would get back to it later.
On Saturday, we went to Wal-Mart with my grandmother in my car. We got a bunch of storage furniture, plastic storage units and file crates mostly, put it all in the car and found that there was only enough room for the driver once everything had been packed in, so Tara and I sent my grandmother back in my car and we walked home. Once we all got back, we took out enough stuff to clear the passenger seat and drove to Hammond for the game.
On Sunday, we waited for Derrick to show up, then we took everything that would fit in my car to the apartment, leaving Tara to ride with Derrick. Derrick and I emptied the car at the apartment, then they went off to do their thing while I got a few things straight in the apartment and went to hang with Robin. Robin and I went out to eat and got a little tore up. When she passed out I met Tara and Derrick at the apartment and hung out for a bit. Neither Tara nor I wanted to go back to my parents' house, but a lack of furniture demanded otherwise, so we came home.
Last night, we again rode out to Hammond, this time to see Dead Man's Chest with most of the gaming group. We all enjoyed it immensely, and Derrick might pick the 7th Sea game back up because of it.
I haven't had to do much today, and no one will expect me to do anything tomorrow, so I have some time to relax before I get my wisdom teeth out on Thursday. Tara has to do the same, the same day, so we'll both be in recovery for a few days. Once we get over that and she gets more of her paintings clean, we're getting a Uhaul and getting out of here. We can't wait to move into our new place.
I hope everyone else is fine. Now, I plan to go read Way of the Dragon to research my Legend of the 5 Rings character.
