I feel very thankful to say that today I finished all of my official duties at UBC. I turned in my keys and everything. I would have preferred to skip invigilating an 8:30-11:00 am exam, but I got through it ok (due in no small part to coffee and a big cinnamon bun), and since I don't have to grade those exams, I have nothing more to do.
We got a little messed up tonight by using the last of our shroom stock. I had originally wanted to drop acid again, in honor of Bicycle Day, but decided against it due to my current level of fatigue. Shrooms have a less harsh effect, but I still got a little sick. They hit me harder than I thought they would, and my meditation to ride it out ended up dulling the rest of the trip a bit. I can still feel some mild effects if I try to do anything complex, but not a full-on trip. However, no worries because tomorrow I have a 420 celebration planned.
Finishing up my studies at UBC feels very good. I enjoyed my time here, the incredible workload notwithstanding, and I look forward to starting PhD work at Tulane in the fall. Now, I feel mostly the exhileration of going home.
