Had a somewhat productive day. I did most of the work for a short paper due this Friday, meaning that I don't have to do too much on it tomorrow. I also did some reading for my Nietzsche term paper. I perhaps should have read some more Nietzsche for class, but I can get through some of that tomorrow. Before I do anything else tomorrow, I plan to look up some articles for my logic term paper. My topic has shifted a bit, but to something fairly interesting, and I don't think I've wasted any of my reading up to this point.
I listened to a Viking Youth Power Hour podcast while doing some clerical work. They seem like pretty funny guys, and talked about some interesting stuff. And no, they're not a neo-nazi group. It's just a catchy name. The show for this past week was on alien encounters, greys, usw. No facts I didn't know before, but seeing all of the stuf arranged in a different way lends to novel pattern recognition.
While talking to Nurodancer, I decided to make use of a new chatspeak abbreviation. Here's the relevant bit of the conversation:
MiKaL Cain: ah well, DATWSBTWOTL
Nurodancer42: ??
Nurodancer42: nm
Nurodancer42: I git it
MiKaL Cain: lol, i'm glad you do
Nurodancer42: Do as thou will...
Tara and I decided to get a junk food dinner from 7-11, then got high and watched some of Hellsing. I had forgotten much of the plot, so I enjoyed watching it again. I haven't seen it nearly as much as Lain or FLCL. If you like really wicked vampire characters, I'd recommend it.
I think I'll wander off now. We're supposed to catch a broadcast of Star Trek VI later tonight.
And for anyone wondering what my stance is with regards to the extraterrestrials question: I think there's been some contact, but I don't have enough data to determine its nature. Maybe extra-planetary, maybe extra-dimensional, maybe psychic projections or something even more weird.
(edited to add: it looks like I'm not the only one I suppose I should expect to see MiBs pretty soon)
