Title: My name... is Shade!
Hiyo! Welcome back, SG'ers!
As you can tell, i'm in a more chipper mood than usual. Praytell, what could possibly do that to me?
Well, it was payday, but most of that is gone towards bills and food. Most of my GST cheque is gone, but thats ok because useful things, as well as a few guilty indulgences, were purchased. One of them was all three DVD to make up the entire Spawn HBO cartoon series. Man, what a find! I have a supernatural knack for finding great deals! I only paid $25.00 for all three DVD's.
Even today, I made my largest purchase yet. It was a 2 for 1 deal at Shoppers Optical, and I needed to renew my prescription for the first time in four years. I went to the neighboring optometrist, plunked down sixty dollars for the eye exam, and went in. For some reason, being examined (even if it was my eyes) was unnerving. The doctor was kind enough, but I was sweating the whole time. Not an enjoyable experience.
Then I picked out my frames. It wasn't easy, but knowing I could pick two helped. I got my pairs, and some decent lenses that were expensive. Both pairs had clip on shades, which was decent since those didn't cost extra, and I desperately needed the shades because sunlight is somewhat uncomfortable after doing night shift all the time. In about 5 to 10 days, i'll have new glasses and shades. I'll have the first part of my 'Neo' look as Aya suggested.
I also wiped out a previously procrastinating obligation with Columbia House, as well as taking a huge bite out of my credit card debt. I was going to get a Shinai so that I could start practicing Kendo, but the House of Knives were all out. I'll have to wait another couple of weeks.
Oh, and I cut my hair. Finally... feels so good to have short hair again.
So life is good. Parents are still pressuring me to get a better job or join the armed forces. And my dad pulled the 'obsolete skills' card on me... the git! No pressure, right? Wrong! My parents are stressing, and I can't blame them. Constant rain (in Saskatchewan?) has hampered their greenhouse business, and my brother is broke and living with them until he can buy a truck to do some trucking jobs. I can see why they want us to succeed, because they must be sick of seeing us fail. Since I was the one with the College education and the highest marks in the family, I have my whole families hopes burdened right on my emaciated shoulders. Ohhhhhhh joy....
But now the money's almost gone. Still have a couple hundred. Might save for a digital camera (lost out on a good deal for one). Then start buying inventory for my retrogaming business.
SG'ers in Calgary! Yeah you guys! Got any plans on monday? Throw some ideas about, i'd love to tag along.
