This is Lord_Shade, calling you from Exile.
Good morning folks!
I'm looking forward to this week. A couple of friends of mine (you know who... *L*) are coming to Calgary. They're really cool in real life, a blast to hang out with. Hopefully, I can reach them soon and see what's up with them.
(Editor's notes: Names withheld, because I have no clue how much of their real lives you people know, and I don't want to find out the hard way by slipping too much info. Probably nothing to worry about, but it's best to be diplomatic).
Not only that, they play Warhammer 40K as well. In my last engagements with these particular opponents, I tied against the Tau (I had more casulties, but I was going into close combat next turn, which is where I would paste them all over the place!). Then I lost BADLY to the other person's Tyranid army.
Words of the wise (and not so wise). Don't let your opponent choose the terrain and scenario unless you can't help it. Let the darn bugs run through the sewers... didn't stand a chance. My marines were bug chow in two turns.
Not only that, you know what time it is? It's the event of the year, where all geeks rejoice at the coming of...
LORD OF THE RINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not sure when exactly i'll see it. I missed getting tickets to the 12 hour trilogy marathon. Still kicking myself for missing that. Darn... (*boot*) darn... (*boot*)....
December must be geek heaven! I also downloaded the first two parts of the new Battlestar Galactica. Can't wait to see them. Want to see them... I just don't usually have the bloody time!
I'm just watching CNN, which I turn on after I get home from graveyard shift, and I saw the big news of the day. Saddam's been captured. Congratulations to those troops.
I admit, I question the US government's motives in Iraq. But it cannot be denied. Saddam is a tyrant. His capture is a blessing. Again, congrats.
I must be off. I promised poetry. But worry not. I have some ideas in my head. Very songlike in structure, but... songs are merely poetry put to music, right? Well, I have the day off monday, so i'll have some time to work on my writing. Get back to something I feel is more of my calling, rather than a mundane job.
So much to do... get my army ready. Get some writing ready... oh... I forgot one other thing...
I'm moving! Going to move with a D&D friend of mine. Again, name withheld for confidenciality reasons, but he's a really cool guy. Smart as... forget the idioms. He's a genius. Almost to the point of being... naw, he is eccentric. But aren't we all at some level? It's just that intelligent people are moreso eccentric than others. The higher the IQ, the more out there they are.
But anyways, I should be in my new place by January the 2nd. Not sure how long my net connection will be out, but i'll be back on before you know it. Since the former roommate bailed out the second I told him I would move in, I can come in at any time. I would have moved before, but I was my landlady's only boarder at the time. Now that she has three other boarders, she can afford to have me move out.
I'm hyped. Hell, even close to being happy. I hope the rest of the week bodes well.
Caio for now!
