Ohayo!!!!!
I seriously have to learn some real Japanese, instead of peppering my conversation with the occasional word. First, get off night shift, then I can go to night school for such a language. But where, praytell?
At least, I have something I want to do now. I want to learn Japanese. I want to join the JET program by 2005. To be learned, I have to travel. To be a good writer, I have to travel (though mind you, there are many good prairie writers out there). So, my ambitions are aiming me towards travelling. Just a matter of when.
Yes, I have something to live for. I want to be a writer. I want to write Scifi, maybe some fantasy. I want to ask questions about the morality of life, science and the unknown. That is how i'll set myself apart from the other writers.
My first step: to enter the scifi writing contest at Con-Version 2004. Entries must be in by April. So far, my idea will be about a malfunctioning bio-replicate (kinda like a flesh and blood robot), the construction foreman, and a man from the company's techsupport, trying to figure out what's wrong with one of their manual laborer units. As for the bio-replicate, he's the slave, and he has re-occuring memories. Problem is, he's not supposed to have any memories past one day, because every day he is put back into the machine, turned into 'base-matter', and since that is the equivalent of killing the creature/slave everyday and rebuilding him, you can expect something akin to a psychological episode from the slave, and some perplexing questions from the tech support guy and the foreman.
I call it "The Problem With Brock"
I knew my time as a manual laborer at Diversified Staffing would pay off! BTW, did you know Diversified Staffing is one of the largest companies in North America? Shows the disposability of workers in our society nowadays...
I'm going to write some poetry this week. I'm a bit rusty, but I think it will be enjoyable. I hope to send it this way this week.
Until then, thanks for all your response. This is Lord_Shade, calling you from Exile.
