My son decided to be Master Chief for Halloween which rocks! I'd always said he'd make a great Unggoy/Grunt when he was in the two to three year old range though hehe. Last Thursday his school had their Halloween party. Of course the day before he asked me what I was going to wear LOL. So I dug through my closet and ended up being Batman with the help of those Batman pajamas you see in my photo album placed over some much warmer clothing. Picked up a few things at the Book Fair for him which was also running that week. I think his favorite part of the evening was playing with a few dressed up classmates after scarfing down a flavored shaved ice from the Kona truck, all in the chilly ass evening weather lol.
Saturday we went to several different 'Trunk or Treat' events including the local library and a local book/comic store. Got my son his very first public library card and he was ecstatic! Of course then he just wanted to hop on the computer and play games grrrrr. At one of the locations they let people cook hot dogs on an open fire so my son said that's what he wanted us to do for dinner over our fire pit in the backyard. The last place we hit before going home was a local barn that hosts farmer markets. They had a bounce house, pony rides and had the barn set up as a haunted house. They tailor the scary factor to each groups request. When we went through we all decided it was pretty tame. So before we left he wanted to go again. Up until we got to the barn he kept saying he wanted it really scary. Then he backed down and said "the same scary", then after we went through he was like "eh that was lame" LOL dude that's what you asked for ya goof! And yes after we got home even though it was dark and hovering around 40 degrees I get a blaze going in the pit and we scorched some dogs and roasted marshmellows all night. :-)
When Halloween rolled around we ended up hooking up with his best buddy from school who so happens to live on the next street over. I threw on my Batman pajamas errr I mean costume again and the wife was a stormtrooper from an outfit we bought last year when he was Iron Man. Years past my son's usually wimped out and not even done one whole street. But this year he was having so much fun with his buddy they ened up doing like three or four streets. We still got home with nearly a half hour left so we ended up passing out candy til the end of the night which he loves to do too.
Last week on my staycation I ended up finally getting my hairs snipped. I usually get a cut in the summer and let it grow out through the winter but just hadn't found the time to get it done proper. Plus since my glassed were about as old as my son I ended up getting new specs. They called this evening so I went and picked 'em up.
When I get my eyes examined the doctor their said my eye pressure was high. So she sent the results to a specialist. Not ten minutes later when I was perusing the frames this number kept blowing my cell up. I finally answered it on the fourth ring and it was the doc's office she'd sent the results to. They were very adamant about getting me in ASAP so I set up an appoinment the following day. Well long boring story not as long apparently I have glaucoma. That doc wouldn't give me any hard numbers yet, just gave me these drops to use for a couple weeks and then come in and get my eyes rechecked next week. I'm sure afterwards he'll break the shitty news to me since the one thing I overheard him tell his assistant during my exam was "severe damage" (sigh).
So yeah on top of all the other personal shit going on at home and at work I get to add glaucoma to my health issue list of sleep apnea, celiac, IBS and anemia lmdao (the 'd' stand for decrepit).
