i hate having to "grow up."
recently i got a promotion at work. it is a super duper great promotion. it is a ton more money and a ton more responsibility.
when i went to interview with my big boss, he let me know that i would have to sacrifice the piercings for my new job. now, i understand that in sales, first impressions are very important. And, i get that if a company is going to pay you a significant amount of money, they have a right to expect you to conform to their dress standards. i understand, i just think it sucks.
so, here i sit, two piercings less, a little more money in my bank account and rich with the knowledge that i am what i always hated, a corporate sell out.

that bites! i sport my ink and wear most of my metal to work except my septum ring... unless i dont want to talk to anyone then in it goes and most folks stay away. but... if you are in sales - i can see where they wouldnt want you scaring anyone. congrats on the promo. maybe youll be able to reclaim yourself after you're in the role for a while. good luck!

I have had facial peircings for 8 years and also worked as a retail manager all that time. They always tell me to take them out at first, but I always seem to "forget" and eventually no notices or cares anymore. Old people love it b/c it reminds them of their grandkids and everyone else starts a conversation with it. People don't always like it when they realize, but are never rude since they didn't really notice in the first place since my jewelry is petite. Give it time you may change the rules like I did, good luck with your new gig though
