So I came home today and turned on the tv and I see that the new Downtown Hilton hotel exploded! I worked on that building for over 6 months and welded most of the pipe on the 5th floor where the explosion from the boiler had happened. Not too many details available yet, but I hope no one I know was caught up in that shit. It was just very surreal to see a corner of a building blown out that you had helped build 6 months ago. Who said getting laid-off was a bad thing. I've been getting phone calls all day about it. Everyone's been relieved that I wasn't still working there, It's one of those things that can easily happen but you never think about until it happens to some one else. I just feel kinda weird right now.
