My eyes are gonna melt out of my head. I'm sitting at work right now and I've been working on learning what is known as "motion matching," which in a nutshell is where you take live video footage with a camera move and then match that camera move in 3D space in order to mimic real life motion with 3D model substitutes. Lots of fun eh? I don't know jack shit about 3D modeling but since I'm pretty good with computers my boss basically said when we started this project, "you're good at computers, figure this out, I want a demonstration by noon tomorrow." Gotta love learning software that typically takes 2-3 years before someone is proficient enough to be able to think about making it a career and be given under 24 hours to learn. At least it is pretty cool and not many people have this skill outside of hollywood. Unfortunately I'm not getting paid anywhere near that, damn this small town and its extrmely high living costs and low pay.

My website has financially fallen to pieces and faces legal trouble on top of that. I've thrown $5K into it and every month some new obstacle is hurled at me. Yesterday I was contacted by the worlds largest Japanese animation distributor reguarding copyright infringement, I knew that day would come but I didn't think it'd come so soon. I've managed to create the worlds largest direct online distribution center for anime, too bad it is a total financial failure due to people just wanting to use and not actually support, and it finally caught up with me even though from day 1 the plan has been to slowly migrate and we've been actively working towards gearing into more legal activities over the past month and a half since the illegal stuff is something I've always found distateful and never wanted to do. So even though I could have half my new car payed off with all the money I've burned up at the expense of others as well as putting my neck on the line to face criminal charges for no personal gain at all, there is some good that will come out of this. We'll be downsizing our activities so the financial burden will be more weildy, we'll be 100% legit so I don't need to worry about people threatening my ass with lawsuites, and without the strain of finances we'll be able to spend more time developing high quality products instead of bashing my brains out trying to figure out how to pay each months bill. I took a risk and got burned, so now its time to move onto something new and try again.
I guess I should get back to work now... Just had to take a few minutes to publish about my uber nerdy day life and job.
