Right now im getting ready to take a nap from math.... been working on some of the review for the test.
The way things are going with the class is discouraging: this time we were given 6 TLEs to do within a week, and instructor opts to teach a portion of it TODAY -- knowing full well that today is the review for the test and monday is the test. I am not happy at all with learing something NOW - right before the test instead of learing it earlier.
On Wed, we had a lab for math. He gave us the individual part to take home. When I read one of the questions on the individual part- I knew something was f'd up. Here is the question:
"4. Why don't we have cylindrical semi or rectangular tanker trucks? Apply what you have learned in this lab to explain your answer."
I went soo far as to look up and print out a picture of a milk taker truck- which happens to be cylindrical. When I approached the instructor about the problem, he then says that he was looking for why cylindrical or rectangular trucks are being used (his answer was that cylindrical tankers are best for liquids, and rectangular are better for solids. So, if someone reads his question and gets the right answer without talkin to him - i will be surprised.
On that note, you should have a rough idea on how we are learning in class (or should I say NOT learning). The instructor may be a nice person, but if you arent teaching the stuff (at least go over one problem for EACH lesson - instead of expecting people to learn from a non-human/ non creative machine.
Its like pulling teeth I tell ya.
Anyways, if I can get all the math done by SAt night, I will go to the brew and have afew drinks: I really want to celebrate (even if it be just by having a few drinks) that I have successfully lived through another year.
On another note.... temp service might ahve a job for me. I have orientation at 11 am saturday morning -- and depending on whether or not i feel ist something for me, i might have the temp position. Strangely, the temp svc kept hinting that the job might lead to permament employment (they hinted more than normal). A problem though, is that temp svc told me job wants you to be available for two differnt shifts -- yet they only kne defintely of 2nd and 1st. (I cannot do forst shift -- I have my class in the a.m). Then temp svs said "we assume they have a 3rd shift" -- and that makes me a bit leery. HOPEFULLY i'd end up on either 2nd or 3rd.
Well, I guess I will get a nap in -- getting pretty tired. I am hopeful I will wake up early so I can get more math done.
CAtch ya later
