Mid Term Thesiseseeses, any feedback welcome, unless your try to correct me, say I'm wrong, make me explain myself, or generally hate in any way I disapprove of... mostly I'm just wasting time and showing off.
1) If artists are the great human reflectors, projecting humanity's condition back at itself, for better or worse, is it not surprising then that in a time of global war disgust, disillusionment, and disinterest become the artist's tools? Born out of the mass destruction of the first World War, Dada became the uncomfortable reflection of Man's loss of faith in everything and of the meaninglessness of his own dignity. Dada was the guttural, automatic, and spontaneous response to a world gone mad.
2) In Alice Munro's short story, The Bear Came Over the Mountain, and Anton Chekhov's, The Lady With the Dog, Munro and Chekhov explore the dynamics of infidelity, using misogynistic main characters to create scenarios of emotional detachment, which are later ecipsed by the greater realization of love
