On July 15th, I became the proud owner of a brand new ibook! YAAAY!!!
On July 17th, apple released Jaguar, the new version of os x. YAAAY!!!
On July 17th, I went to apple.com to download Jaguar, only to find out they want $150 from anyone who didn't buy a mac on the 17th or later. WHAT??! BOOOOOOO!!!!! After spending over $1800 including a 3-year Applecare plan, they still want me to shell out money for an os update? That's rediculous.
I'm almost considering going to compusa to see if they'll "exchange" my ibook for me so the receipt date changes. Any other suggestions, suicidefans?

you might be surprised at what a well written letter can grant you. there exists still a rule that the customer is always right. it's not always true, but I'm certain you could persuade them

I got my powerbook in January at the apple store in glendale. The day after I got my mac they got the powerbooks with the cd burner dvd combo drives. I called the store manager and told them that I saw my computer for sale at Frys with cd burner for the same price. She gave me a external CD burner priced at 300 for free! When your giving them three grand for a computer they need to work with you a little
