i've looked all over alaska, for the mead that i enjoy so much, and the bottom line is: it only exists in the restaurant, i cook in, and the u.k..
so, i'm going to make my own. the owner of cafe amsterdam, where i work part time is also a brewer, and now my offical mead coach.
my other boss knows of a cooperage in alaska, where i can have an oak cask made. it's on. i'm going to make mead infused with scotch, and in 2 years i will have a whole barrel of something that tastes like summer sun, and feels like the 2 minutes, before, and after really good sex. yes, it's that good. or maybe i should start having better sex... hmmm... no, i think it's that good.
anyway, except for my wonderful rotwieller loki, it will be the only thing i've done that continues to get better the longer i'm patient with it. cheers.
