The devastating news of Chester's passing has hit me beyond expression, but I'm gonna try. I, like many others, lived my formative teenage years listening to Linkin Park and I've no doubt that without their music I wouldn't be who I am, and where I am today. I still remember finding Hybrid Theory on the stairs of my parents house and 'borrowing' it from my brother, only to steal it and become obsessed. Their music helped me deal with bullying, toxic relationships and so much more. As someone who has suffered depression for countless years and has an ongoing battle with suicidal tendencies, knowing that Chester was himself in so much pain is devastating not only to me, but his fans, friends and family.
My thoughts go out to all those affected by this awful tragedy. Remember that if you're going through something similar, there is ALWAYS someone to talk to; you are never alone.
Today is gonna be spent listening to Hybrid Theory and Meteora on loop, in memory of such a talented and brilliant man who touched countless lives with his lyrics. Rest in Peace, Chester. You've earned it.
If anyone is struggling themselves and needs someone to talk to, feel free to message me. Nobody should suffer alone.
