I have never posted a request to sign a petition before, but this is one I can get behind completely.
Imagine honoring John Lennon's 65th birthday Sunday October 9, 2005 And every October 9th with an International holiday Celebrating Peace and Love on Earth. Please sign our online petition in order to gather the 10 million signatures needed to accomplish this.
"We were the Spice Boys" - George Harrison, born 25 February 1943, died 30 November 2001
"It's part of our policy not to be taken seriously because our opposition, whoever they may be - in all their manifest forms, don't know how to handle humour, we're humorists, we're Laurel & Hardy, that's John & Yoko, we're willing to be the worlds clowns... The establishment irritates you - pull your beard, flick your face - to make you fight because once they've got you violent they know how to handle you. The only thing they don't know how to handle is non-violence and humour. " - John Lennon, born October 9, 1940, December 8, 1980
Ev'ry time i see your face,
It reminds me of the places we used to go.
But all i got is a photograph
And i realise you're not coming back anymore.
I thought i'd make it the day you went away,
But i can't make it
Till you come home again to stay-yi-yay-yi-yay.
I can't get used to living here,
While my heart is broke, my tears i cried for you.
I want you here to have and hold,
As the years go by and we grow old and grey.
Now you're expecting me to live without you,
But that's not something that i'm looking forward to.
I can't get used to living here,
While my heart is broke, my tears i cried for you.
I want you here to have and hold,
As the years go by and we grow old and grey.
Ev'ry time i see your face,
It reminds me of the places we used to go.
But all i got is a photograph
And i realise you're not coming back anymore.
Ev'ry time i see your face,

And i realise you're not coming back anymore.
Ev'ry time i see your face,

And i realise you're not.

In response to your request, I'd do that if the US had a national holiday on the anniversary Malcolm X's death, he did as much as King for the movement and in fact had the cojones to make common sense approaches to the problems facing the black community.
