By popular demand, I'm updating my journal.
Whee!
My dad says to me on the phone the other day, "y'know, for someone who isn't working all that much, you sure seem busy." Too true.
Still working daily at the radio station but not full-time hours. The ownership change at the radio station(s) apparently becomes effective at the beginning of June. For the past few weeks they've cut my hours in half saying "we can't do anything to create a full-time position for you until the ownership changes."
I'm still curious as to why they decided to take me off of mornings and train someone new to take my old job. Could just be that my new PD, who really is a good guy, was more familiar with him than he was with me, so now it's "his boys" that are getting the good shifts. It could also be that they know whatever offer they pitch me to stay on full-time year round will not be enough (since most likely I'll go back to doing ski reports in the fall, but enough money could do the trick).
Aside from that, the baseball game P.A. announcing continues, and I'm doing all the games for the big Fisher Cats-Portland Seadogs series, which will be PACKED. Should be a good weekend. I've also been considered to do voice-overs for a major cable company 'round these parts as well... don't know much about that but my PA gig kinda made that happen, which is what I was hoping for in the back of my mind.
So, yeah, a lot going on, but not enough of it in some departments. Rent is due in a few days, after all
Enough of the boohooing. Life is grand. It's almost summer. I'm getting away with murder on the airwaves Sunday night. I've already pre-recorded my "Deep tracks" show, and on long weekends I do "long song" specials. Two hours, six songs. Show me a commercial radio station that will play Pink Floyd's "Echoes" or ANYTHING by Television and I'll show you... uhh... well, whatd'ya wanna see?
Sox kicked the SHIT out of the A's. That makes me happy. Someone told me with my Red Sox hat on I look like Mark Bellhorn. I think Johnny Damon should have kept the beard. He looks like a cartoon character without it.
Apologies for putting you to sleep.

Just tell them I want to hear you!! GEEZ! You think they would understand. Anyway, it's raining here like crazy this weekend. Any good suggestions for rainy day music?

I could never do your job. I would end up mumbling and would be fired immediately!
