Another weekend, another series of Fisher Cats games, and I'm still poor! Friday was fun actually, doing onfield public address. We had a good crowd although the crowd was rather sparse once we got into extra innings. I had to do a "player of the game" interview with a pitcher who spoke little to no English. Nice guy.
Tomorrow night I get to play the role of emcee again, this time as the radio station's host at karaoke. Not much of a stretch, I show up at frequenty because a) the radio station picks up my tab and b) what else is there to do in a one-horse town on a Tuesday night. I hope the new ownership doesn't dispose of the bar-tab perk!
Well, even here in New Hampshire, gas is now two dollars a gallon. Wise choice getting that Jeep two years ago... I remember five years ago getting gas on the Massachusetts Turnpike for 99 cents a gallon and feeling ripped off because everyone OFF the Pike was selling it for 89 cents a gallon.
Come to think of it, I miss driving in Massachusetts. Driving 30 minutes in any direction brings you to a completely different geopolitical enclave in Massachusetts. Driving 30 minutes in New Hampshire just gets you to the next town. Nice mountain roads in New Hampshire but that's primarily in the northern half.
Jonathan Richman never wrote a song about Interstate 89. 'Nuff said.
