I knew May/June would be a little out of control, and so far I'm still barely ahead!
I'm calling that a win. I've just recovered from being sick, I didn't skip a day of uni, or of work, just kept going and now I'm back to normal (just tired), and editing away as always.
I've officially fallen behind at uni, we have 3 weeks to go till end of term, and there's no hope I'll get everything in.
My teachers have all been amazing, and have sat down with me and seen just what I've been up to in terms of shooting commercially and for SG, and they're pretty impressed. They keep assuring me that the purpose of uni is to become prepared to get paid work in the industry... and here I am already doing that. So while they swear black and blue I won't fail, they've told me I need to edit and get photos back to all my clients and not worry so much about the course... I can't help but be worried though.
But considering they've all reassured me I'm not going to fail, I'm plodding along with all my editing. I've lost all sense of priority. Paid work is the only thing now determining if I do it first. And almost all of it is paid.
So it comes down to my mood, and which sets are coming together easily, which set am I feeling the vibe of working on today?
That kind of thing. If I find I'm struggling to sit and work consistently on a set, SG or not, I immediately switch to something else that grabs my attention.
It's a different set every day. It's so crucial I'm liking what I'm working on, otherwise I have to go back and re-edit if I've rushed or not felt inspired from that day. I'm currently sitting on 11 SG sets all up left to edit. 2 weren't from the Brisbane Shootfest, and 9 are!
of those, about 4 are half done, the other 5 I'm yet to touch, those girls told me to take my time, so I've left them till last.
one of the non Brisbane ones is definitely getting finished this afternoon. By the end of Monday, I want at least two more Brisbane ones done. And then I'll start feeling more in control.
School work is taking a backseat for one more week, and then I'm taking two weeks off my SG editing until all my uni work is up to date. All I want to do is edit SG, so that's incentive enough for me to hurry up with uni work even faster!
