I'm possibly one of the worst bloggers on SG, so this post sure will make up for my absence lately! This is going to be one hell of a post, with LOTS of previews and behind the scenes images! (not all preview images are 'fully' edited, I'm still slowly working through editing, but for the sake of previews, I'm putting them up anyway!)
And if you've stumbled across this page from instagram, hey hi hello, welcome to Suicide Girls! Just a heads up, coming up is a fair few NSFW images (not safe for work). (and just quickly for anyone new here, MR = Members Review, any time that's mentioned, we're talking about photo sets of 40-60 images that'll be up here for the SG community to 'heart' and comment on, giving those sets a chance to being bought by SG).
On the 8th June, @bronx_ and I left miserable, cold, rainy Melbourne, to go to the Sunshine Coast!
Ha, Sunshine Coast? More like Overcast Coast! The weather was SO temperamental, one minute was blue skies, the next, a downpour. I wasn't sure we'd even left Melbourne...
The gorgeous @emmameow and Vonnie (not sure she has an SG account yet!) met us at the airport, and we roadtripped it to our AMAZING villa for the next five nights. Granted we may have taken a few scenic routes on the way due to the absurd amount of roundabouts, we got there in the end.
On the first day I hoped we'd get to smash out a set or two, but somehow we just didn't get around to it. Walking into the villa was incredible, it was better than the photos we saw online... I've never really envisioned my dream home before, but being there has definitely set the standards. I barely took any of my own photos of the place. Oops.
So on that first night I tried reeaaally hard to get on top of the sets I still had waiting to be edited from shoots in Melbourne, I literally hadn't had a chance to do it before the trip, and so trying to get all that done was pretty stressful, but the delicious food @emmameow made, and the cheap ass Moscato we bought made it all so much easier!
Of course the four of us decided it was bubble bath time, sadly there's no group shot of how we all managed to fit in there (think legs-stacks-on). Great fun. Someone had prickly legs, no idea who!
Waking up the next morning so early kind of sucked, but the room, and the yard was actually so relaxing that it completely changed my mood - I felt super ready to begin the day!
#selfiequeen
Anyway, now moving right along to the actual shoots!
First up was @bronx_ the Brave.
Even though it was overcast and gloomy, she had no fear and stripped down to a bikini, and actually went into the pool... My hat goes off to her... Madame Bronx has improved so much since we last shot together, or maybe we just work better together now? Whatever the case, my job was made easy!
Ahh shooting that set was amazing, it took less than an hour, and just as we were finishing up, Chantelle arrived for her shoot! (If you have an SG account let me know! I couldn't find you on here!)
Chantelle is one of @vorpal's recruits, and faaaark I wasn't let down, Chantelle absolutely killed her shoot, we did a mini shoot for fun, but also one for MR which I'm still prepping. Amazing, I really hope to work with her again, and again, and again (and again!). She's got one of those instantly likeable personalities and works really well with the camera, I really hope to see her succeed in the SG world. Check her out!
After this set, came Vonnie's debut set in front of the fireplace! (which scared the absolute crap out of all of us once we finally figured out how to get it going, it has a bit of a violent start to it).
Vonnie stayed at the Villa with Emma and I the entire five nights, and she really brought the house to life, I seriously can;t wait for us to be able to hang out again.
Next up @emmameow and I attempted a set on the staircase by the entrance. Emma can do no wrong, but for some unknown reason neither of us were feeling it while we shot this... so we've shelved it for now, it was really weird, I have no idea what went wrong, but my shots just didn't do her justice at all, we agreed to try again the next day. (and thank christ we did, just you want for that set....). But here's a couple of out takes from the staircase anyway!
At some point during the evening, @emmatticus joined the crew just in time for dinner!
I was uploading and editing (and by this point, talking to myself a lot), while the girls put together another meal (amazing, thank you, thank you).
Although we nearly had to ban @bronx_ from serving duty after she attempted to give us this as a meal.....
After dinner we had a moody photo session just for fun, we were all exhausted, so I decided these were best off in black and white! I don't do too much in b&w usually, but I dig these!
At this point in time, I'm praying the SG site allows me to publish a blog with so many images in it...
So now we're moving onto Day Three in the house (how time flies?!)
The day started with an early morning shoot with @emmatticus out on the back decking, she was incredible to shoot as well, I honestly couldn't believe my luck at this point, not a single dud model! I was internally rejoicing! Anyway, so we nailed that shoot, so here's a few from that first set!
And later in the afternoon we shot a second set!
Double success!
I've got no idea which order I shot all these sets on this particular day, but sometime during this day I also went for round two with @bronx_ !
AND I FINALLY MET @camisado !!
Seriously I don't understand why she isn't doing magazine covers, double spreads and shit already, she's without question one of the most photogenic people I've ever met... I can't wait to see where she ends up in a couple of years from now...
Like wow.
annnnd here's a few of the set @emmameow and I took for an MR set!
I'm probably leaving out a million little stories here too, but I'll move it along and get to the final day of shooting!
We were graced with the bubbly presence of @faeviel, who I had been DYING to meet since our first exchanging of emails. She was by far the most excited lady for the shoots, and by the third day of shooting, I was exhausted. Her excitement was so infectious - it kept me going. It was perfect timing, I really needed that.
Can't wait to work with her again! (fingers crossed for October!)
And her gorgeous travel companion @sammysiren and I also smashed out 2 MR sets, and 3 mini sets on the same day!
Sammy's lingerie selections by far outstripped my expectations - she looked incredible in everything, unreal. She could wear a garbage bag and still look hot...
Some people just have all the luck...
By the time we shot the very last mini set, I think my body mass was approximately 90% red bull. I was desperately trying to stay awake and shoot well.
Shooting all day, editing all night, and unable to switch my brain off while I was sleeping caused me to wake up exhausted. I have little memory of that final night of shooting now, and looking back on the photos was a pleasant surprise - I don't recall framing majority of them while in my sleep deprived delusion, but holy wow I can't wait to get these sets up.
I could just keep going forever with @sammysiren spam... honestly..
BUT you're all just going to have to wait to see more!
And I guess on a more personal note of the trip, on the second last day @emmameow, Vonnie and I made the trip to Brisbane so that Vonnie and I could get tattooed at Trailer Trash Ink! AMAZING place, I'll 100% be returning there on my next visit to be tattooed by the incredible Chantel.
(so much swelling/bruising in this, it's now already peeled and getting past that itchy stage, I'll take a better photo of it soon! p.s; Christina is my older sister.)
and finally a small group shot just minutes before we left the villa :(
I forgot to take proper group shots.. really regret that now.
This blog post doesn't even include the fun we had while Emma was shooting with @trickett and Daniel... It was the best learning experience to watch those pros do their thing though!
I'm already back to full time work at my day job, while also attempting to edit all these sets, plus find time to eat, relax a little, and sleep... life is so goddamn insanely busy for me at the moment, not sure how much longer I can keep going at the rate I am now, but I'm going to take a minute to sincerely thank all the girls for that week, for cooking, cleaning, being on reflector bitch duty, for putting up with my tired eyes and delusional tangents, and much, much more.
And even though neither will probably read this, thank you Ben and Matt for being my texting buddies during the day, and in the dead of night when I needed that little bit of extra encouragement.
And the most important and loving thank you, goes to Red Bull. You guys should just sponsor me already.
I've learned a lot from this trip, especially about the workload I can physically and mentally cope with. As crazy as it's all been, I wouldn't trade the experience for the world though.
I'll be back Queensland... I'll be back.
