Movers are here taking the household goods. They're coming again in a month to take the rest of our shit, then off to NC on May 11. The cats really freaked out this morning. Dad tried to corner Jet and ended up with a hole in his hand. They don't like him anyway, so I don't know why he didn't just wait for me to...

Today was not happy. I woke up about 6 AM so cold. The heater ran out of gas in the night, so the whole house was freezing. I took Jeff to work at 8 and came back for the coldest shower of my life before going to work myself. I really didn't want to shower like that but I needed to wash my greasy hair....

AAhhh. So nice to be home alone. Listening to free music on iTunes and Launchcast. It's not great, but it's free, so who cares.
Must work on school stuff. I can't wait for this stupid online class to be over with. The final paper I have to write is a research paper and the topic I chose is very interesting, but too broad I think....

So I'm really excited about moving. I love Germany. However Baumholder sucks, and I'm going to go on a crazy shooting spree if I have to stay here much longer.
I'm looking forward to:
Movie theatres were I have 18 choices and they're all in English.
Good Chinese food. Not this grade f chicken bullshit.
24 hour WalMart.
Big Fucking-God-Bless-America Malls.
Book stores. Big-assed two...

how long have you been over there? to which part of this bush-loving country are you moving? i think i could spend the next 4 years in germany easily.

i love it here... but i'm totally excited to be leaving too. i'm starting the countdown, and i'm getting happier and happier as the days fly by. this is just not the time for me to be here... yay for so many things... but i'll miss kino popcorn, fresh brotchen, and the german convos the most.... there are too many things to miss, but bookstores are a huge bonus for leaving.
you've been down to ktown (Kaiserslautern) right?

Uggh. I've got fifteen minutes before I have to go to work. Julie (my boss) got her contract extended for three more months, so I'll be employed up until we move. I hope she tells them to fuck off after the three months are up. They've really dicked her around. But apparently it's pretty hard to find work for Germans. The unempolyment rate is huge....

Another week or so has passed and still nothing exciting has happend. Jeff had a birthday (he is 24) and being the wonderful girlfriend that I am I made him feel as special as I could, privacy (or lack thereof) permitting...
My boss lost her contract so I will out of work in about a month...
I still hate it in Baumholder, but my dad...

I cannot imagine you in a christian college ! It would be like a torture for you. I understand your feeling about the little of events in our lifes, right now I feel the same ...
Something really interesting happened. We were driving back from Kaiserslautern on Saturday and saw this huge bird of prey at our autobahn exit that had been hit. Of course I had to pull over, and Jeff got out to see if it was still alive. Didn't know the laws on such things, so we decided to take it home and get it to a wildlife...

The "Annes Folles" ("Crazy Years") were one time in the Twenties where the French high-class (Parisian particularly) was running wild ...
It was the passage of Art Decoration to Bauhaus...
It was also the moment when the women wanted to take more independence, they cutted their hair very short and got dressed with the "garonne" (like boys). It was one time of soft "decline" before the war...

wow, that's so amazing. i love birds. was it hard to get him back in the box once he was more alert?
I got the day off work to drive my dad out to Landsthul today for his over 50 male exam thingey. He was very anxious, but it came off without a hitch. I didn't think it was a big deal, I know lots of people that have had upper and lower GIs done, but he's a freak about this kind of thing. Totally paranoid hypochondriac....

Your "Taken in August" series are great : really " Annes folles" style

To prevent hair from being EVERYWHERE, Jeff likes to completely shave Jet (the fat boy of my 2 cats). Jet doesn't mind for the most part, but the clippers quit about a third of the way through, so now Jet has a chunk of hair missing on his back and the rest is normal. I feel so sorry for him. He looks terrible. Jet's self...

I'm curious about piercing through scar tissue. I'd like to get my nipples redone, but I'm fairly apprehensive about it. Any personal experience to enlighten me would be helpful.
P.S. I uploaded pics of my babies...

as for my smashing english; i'm here because my dad's military too. i was born in germany and left when i was two, we go the chance to come back with i was 15, i went to high school on the base... i graduated in 03, and i moved to san francisco, i loved it for a while but jonesed for germany, so i moved back for my dad's last year in germany, and probably his last tour in europe. it's a smashing place to grow up; there is nothing that compares to the christmas markets, the food, the way of life, and the music... i love it. someday i'll get back here, but now's not the time.
i'm doing maryland classes here, and they're really discouraging. i didn't think that i needed a big university and all that, but i need something more than middle-aged house wives, and military folks that are really closeminded and there just because they're bored, want to get out of work, or are looking for a promotion.
i get the being back at home thing, it's really odd... so i'm moving again; it's just a way of life.
do you like germany? it's the closest i have to home. where's home for you? my dad is a pilot, but he's on the last leg of his career so no more flying for him. how much longer do you have here? sorry i'm full of so many questions. i just always think that it's amusing to find out how small the world is really; finding people that are similar in all different places; like here at sg

we do have very parrallel lives.
. i was born in Landstuhl, which is just down the street from where i live now. i agree the markets are always good times. the one in Homburg is decent i've gotten many of my lamps from there, weird old 70s style floor lamps. so are the christmas markets and the summer festivals.
we're here at ramstein, and the base sucks, but if you go out and get around the area is really great. there are so many people that just stay on base, and never explore, complaining that there isn't anything to do... i want to beat them sensless and explain, that they're in germany there there is plenty to do if you'd get off the base... but they don't listen... and they go on about how they hate that more people don't speak english. blah blah blah.
i've been to missouri, i lived at scott afb in illinois for a few years and my mum went to basket conventions in missouri.. back in the early 90s... wow it's been over ten years... hm. what are some of the other places you've lived?
