Something really interesting happened. We were driving back from Kaiserslautern on Saturday and saw this huge bird of prey at our autobahn exit that had been hit. Of course I had to pull over, and Jeff got out to see if it was still alive. Didn't know the laws on such things, so we decided to take it home and get it to a wildlife sanctuary of some kind if it lived through till Monday.
I didn't think it would make it through the first night, but it kept getting stronger and more alert. Jeff had it drinking water within a few hours, but we never managed to get it to eat. I wouldn't know what to feed it anyway, short of something alive like a mouse.
By Sunday it was standing on the ledge of the box we were keeping it in, which was fairly frightening, considering how enormous it was and how powerful they can be.
Today we tracked down the right authorities and handed him over. It was sad, but he's better off.
Check out the pictures from Sunday in my folder.

It was the passage of Art Decoration to Bauhaus...
It was also the moment when the women wanted to take more independence, they cutted their hair very short and got dressed with the "garonne" (like boys). It was one time of soft "decline" before the war...
