So I was in Vegas last week. Went to CES and AVN. Didn't get a chance to run into Danielle (because she didn't even make it to Vegas unfortunately) or Vanessa (sounds like she may have had a rough trip anyway).
CES was very bleh. Saw a few cool items, but no real cool new tech. Everything was all about how big a plasma TV could get. And how you could share media all over your home network via wireless, or bluetooth, or some proprietary bullshit. Did get to see an OQO (http://www.oqo.com/) which was out last year, but is still really bad ass (and uses the much ignored Transmeta chip). Same chip is used in this little gadget - http://www.antelopetech.com/en/Index.aspx - which I think would be kinda cool for the core of a automotive computer system I've been wanting to put together for a while now. A few pics of CES and the gang in Vegas at http://www.tsd.edu/liz/pics/2005/ces
I want an Aibo. Those things are fucking cool. Plus, I think it'd be neat to hack the hell out of one. Got video of two of them here: http://www.tsd.edu/liz/pics/2005/movies
The rest of the HUGE CES convention was a mix of crap, car shit, and, like I said before, "here is a giant 80 inch tv that you could never afford. and if you could, where would you put it?" I'm sure I could find SOMEWHERE to put it, but you get my point.
AVN was a blast, alhough a little insane. Smaller floor space, but I swear more people per square foot. Literally walked into Aurora Snow, ran into Jessica Drake at the bar in the Venetian, stepped on Jenna Jameson's foot (she's fucking short), saw clown porn (kinda funny, but overall, just not okay), lots of cross dressers (most of them very scary). Porn stars are extraordinarily nice at this thing, considering how basically all the fans there are grabbing at them, demanding how they stand for a picture, etc. Kinda funny to watch, but I couldn't imagine having to be nice to those people for an entire three or four day weekend. Was handed samples of everything from lube, to DVDs, to vibrating cock rings, to piercing jewelry (this guy was really insistant on me trading out all my rings for his). Got plenty of pics. Up over here: http://www.tsd.edu/liz/pics/2005/avn. I don't know alot of these girls' names (except for the obvious ones) so if you recognize them and know their names, lemme know. As of right now, pics of the ones I know aren't even named properly because too many people were demanding to see these NOW!
Basically learned there is ALOT of fucking porn in the world, nothing terribly exciting is coming out this year (as far as CES is concerned), and Vegas still kicks ass even though I lost about a grand overall. Oh! And 99% of porn stars are REALLY short.
