Still alive... just busy... Here's a rather long post about a recent loss.

Haskell, HF, Jones, Jonsey, old man, Dad, Paw Paw, Husband, and, of course, diceman. My grandfather had alot of names and titles over the course of his 97 years. He died on April 13th at 1:30pm at East Jefferson Hospital surrounded by his family. He wasn't in pain (because of all the...

Been quite some time since I updated.

Lessee... still in Philadelphia, still working for an insane client, still racking up frequent flier miles and hotel points faster than I could ever hope to use them.

Got to go home last weekend. Saturday night was a "mad scientist's pot luck" party at Judy and Gomez's. Played with tesla coils and a air cannon with an exercise...

Hrm.... well, as everyone else has posted about already, Hunter S Thompson killed himself last night. Gun to the head. I found this out after restarting my phone when landing in a VERY snowy Philadelphia. After finally getting checked into my hotel, I scrounged up a shot of Jack in his memory.

Good weekend. Drno got into town on Friday morning. Picked his sorry ass...

So lessee. The EFF released a tool for cleaning logs. Written in python. Works on POSIX compliant systems. There is a decent readme with it that shows all you can do with it. Their new "privacy" tool. Download it here:
http://www.eff.org/osp/logfinder-0.1.tar.gz

This page to me is just funny and ironic. Especially after they announced 16 new vulnerabilities this last week and there is already exploit...

For those of you working in cubicle land, here's how to make cubicle mines - http://www.hackaday.com/entry/1234000073029700/

http://www.saic.com/cover-archive/announce/012805.html - More SAIC incompetence. I'm so glad they are a preferred government contractor for computer security. Just makes me feel all safe and warm on the inside.

SAIC is also the company who was in charge of making the new FBI computer system that has been talked about...

It was a long damned weekend. But it's over. Everything got done that needed to be done. And the best part is I never have to do it again.

Found this video the other day:

http://www.tsd.edu/liz/kidshow2.wmv

You all have GOT to watch it. Fucking Hilarious.

Things like, "Hot dogs give me energy for fighting off my daddy", or "Those men are fondling those dogs like...

For a long time, I never really knew what regret felt like. I never regretted anything. I was always able to look at things as learning experiences.

But thanks to one wonderful person, I now know what it feels like. I regret ever having spent time with this person, regret ever telling them any of my secrets, regret ever having loved her.

So here's to...

Had a great loooong lunch with a friend today. Talked about some things that I hadn't talked to anyone about before. Feels like it did me some good.

In celebration of the beginning of filming of Clerks 2: The Passion Of The Clerks, and the relatively soon released Episode 3, here's an old file:

5 more months til Batman Begins. Still looks bad ass....

So I was in Vegas last week. Went to CES and AVN. Didn't get a chance to run into Danielle (because she didn't even make it to Vegas unfortunately) or Vanessa (sounds like she may have had a rough trip anyway).

CES was very bleh. Saw a few cool items, but no real cool new tech. Everything was all about how big a plasma TV...

Interesting couple of days.

It's always interesting to me that someone who knows me very well, and considers themselves my "friend" thinks that I can't tell when something is being hidden from me.

Also, have you ever noticed that when someone gets caught in a lie, a big one, that they get angry? Like it's YOUR fault they got caught.

Transmission in the car fall...

Christmas in New Orleans. NEVER expected I ever would have seen a WHITE CHRISTMAS in New Orleans. But now I have. Hasn't happened in over 100 years. BIG fluffy flakes of snow.. My family was going nuts. It's odd how I'm completely sick of snow when I'm in Denver, yet, in New Orleans, it felt like I was seeing it again for the first time....
