A month from today I'll be in Vegas.
That's the good news. For now I have to work my ass off to make sure I can afford to get my license renewed (see previous post). I still have another 3 tickets to pay.
It's been kind of a slow week, but it's picking up. Saturday I had a 9:30 am appointment, and I hate morning appointments, especially on weekends. Because then I stress about getting enough sleep, and I'm somewhat nocturnal. So it's not a good combination. But my 9:30 appointment cancelled, and I went back to bed. No takers for the rest of the day. I tried a different strategy with the advertising and woke up today to 5 voicemails for appointments, all of which wanted the morning. I called a few back, and hopefully they'll book tomorrow.
Sunday had band practice, then went to see Tool in New Hampshire at night. We spent a chunk of band practice trying out a new guitar player and helping him get his tuning and his sound right. We tune down to C, and he's used to standard tuning. I don't think he'll fit in. He's not used to the low tuning, the different gauge strings it requires, and his influences are too old-school for us. He played some riffs for us that were very Iron Maiden, not that I have anything against Iron Maiden, and the classic stuff like Maiden is an influence to us, but it dates us. We need someone that's part Iron Maiden, part Killswitch Engage.
