So I went to the South Shore today for a 4th of July BBQ put on by a former bandmate, Mike from Bitter Season. I only really went because there wasn't anything happening closer, and I wanted a chance to play a few of the old songs that I haven't sung outside the shower in a very long time. Apparently Mike and Greg (bass player from Bitter Season) are trying to resurrect a few of the old songs and work on some new material and get a band together.

I knew they'd try to recruit me. I'm a decent singer and a good lyricist. I'm not the Goddess's gift to music. Having said that, we have a good chemistry, and I realize I'm one of the few guys out there who can write melody lines for what they're writing. They were most definitely kissing my ass. Mike complimented me on my tone, my ability to step in and write at least a few phrases after hearing a new song only a couple times. My ego isn't as big as it could be.

They know I'm in a band right now, and they know I've been working with my current band for 2 years without playing a single show. I just have to believe that the hours of pouring my heart into these songs hasn't gone to waste, that with the completed demo, we'll be able to find a bass player and get onstage sometime soon.
