So almost $300 later my cat Mo is pretty much back to normal. He scared me for a minute. I know that I will loose him someday, but not yet! We still have some time together. Ellison has never seen a day without him.
The funny thing is that was the first time he has ever been to the vet. He is almost 10 and he goes outside daily. He has scrapped with many a stray alley cat, killed and eaten all kinds of birds and lizards, and ran like hell from crazy dogs on the loose. Don't forget that we live in Tucson AZ. He has managed to escape being taken away by Harris hawks, being bitten by poisonous insects, getting eaten by the occasional city coyote (there were some in my old neighborhood) and drowning in the mosoon that turned my street into a 3 ft deep, fast flowing wash. And up until this recent illness, he usually spent most nights outside, including the cold and rainy ones by choice.
Except for the fact that he was fixed at a young age (no kitty sex and no offspring) he has had a very full life. Not only was he able to prowl and develop his kitty instincts, he got tons of love and good food. The same is true for my other cat Penny. Althoug she has always enjoyed couch and lap surfing more than the outdoor life.
When I die I want to come back as one of my cats.
